The calendar includes 12 of my favourite and most memorable photos from last year. Some encounters and photos happened unexpectedly, like the hare that suddenly came jumping out of a meadow while I was waiting for lapwings. Others took weeks or even months to get. I observed a pair of rose-ringed parakeets from searching for the right nesting tree in January to the young ones leaving the nest by the end of May. To photograph an ermine in the Finnish winter I had to wait eleven days at the edge of a forest with temperatures reaching down to -25°C. But no matter the circumstances, each image and animal in this calendar holds a special place in my heart.
